Give the Gift of Music!
Help Us Continue to Build Sustainability While We Grow
Friends of South Florida Music (FSFM) is a non-profit foundation that provides music education, enrichment, and developmental activities free of charge to children of all ages and abilities in Title 1 schools in under-resourced communities in South Florida. In our first seven years, the program has grown from just 97 to over 1,450 musicians receiving classes during the 2023-24 season.
It is critical that we maintain continuity in the classrooms and schools that we serve. Your annual investment of $250 in our local community will fund programming for one of our 1,450 musicians for an entire school year. Please help us reach our goal and fulfill our commitment to each of our 95 classrooms.
Music FUNdamentals, our researched-based curriculum, is a weekly music and movement course hosted during the school day in public schools. We pair a dedicated FSFM music specialist with a classroom and provide a structured yet tailored experiential learning adventure that helps students of all abilities actualize the achievement of expressing their creativity.
Each class builds on this weekly enrichment and creates a performance at the end of their school year to share the joy of Music FUNdamentals with their parents and other supportive members of the community. This concert showcases the developmental progress that Music FUNdamentals facilitates in these young musicians.
Please support us in our mission to help all children reach their potential. Our organization values all individuals and celebrates their unique gifts through music. Dr. Joy Galliford, Founder and Executive Director, leads the FSFM team from the point of view that it is our purpose to help each student grow and develop into the future contributors and leaders they were meant to be.
